I have one boy and two girls and the girls are totally different than he was. I don't know if they are slower or just different. It could also be related to the fact that he is the baby. i've heard that before, but I don't think it's at all odd or anything to worry about, he'll get around to it. |

Always remember all kids are different he might just be taking his time because he doesn't feel the need to crawl he has 2 sisters that can get the stuff for him, just like he might take his time talking if they do it for him. My son at a year had 10 teeth my daughter is a year and has 4 she doesn't eat all the stuff he did at that age I know it can be unnerving but just let him be he is just enjoying being the baby :) |

You say your son REFUSES to crawl. Does this mean he is capable and just won't, or he is not able to do so at all. Is he able to sit up on his own. Also, does he have any mode of locomotion at all (rolling, scooting, pushing himself backwards, etc...) My son started crawling at 5 months. We did not 'make', or encourage him to do so, he just did it himself. Crawling is a very important developmental phase where the action of crawling turns on certain neurons in the brain. Just remember, there is a wide range of ages in which children crawl, walk, speak, etc... Like I mentioned, my son crawled at 5 months, walked at 10 months, but just started clapping his hands together now he is 15 months. If the situation is so worrisome for you, definitely speak to your pediatrician. Good luck, and just know all children develop differently (Einstein didn't even speak until he was 3-4 years old : ). |

I also have two girls and a boy, and yes they are all different. beleive it or not, my boy is speaking before his sister did! although we didn't realize she was speaking spanish... thank you dora! at fifteen months, my son was going potty while his sister refused the toliet till she was much closer to two, ad then it was grugingly. my oldest was reading before she left preschool and her sister doesn't recognize most letters yet. as long as your doctor doesn't see a problem, don't worry too much. enjoy the inablility to get into stuff while you can! And don't let everyone do things for him. help him see his independence, but don't push him. i'm sure he'll be crawling any time now! |
