Hello Everyone,
My son is 9 months and is not crawling yet. He tends to scoot backwards on his stomach and can spin from side to side. He will hold up his arms and begin to fuss. He enjoys sleeping on his stomach which I don't understand. Any advice???? Am I being an over anxious new parent? Makina |

Hi Makina,
Be patient. I thought the same thing about my son, but he didn't start crawling actually till two weeks ago and he'll be a year old in two weeks! I got nervouse too and tried everything. I got on the floor with him and crawled to every place for two days, that didn't work, I tried helping him and bend his knees and helped him move his hands, and that just frustrated him. He did do the military crawl for a few weeks at about 9 months where he pulled his whole but with just his arms. But he got the hang of it all on his own and now I can't keep him out of anything. So be patient he'll crawl in no time, but on his own term. |

Hi. I had the same concerns. My son is 9 1/2 months and he was doing the military style crawl, dragging his body. One day about a week ago, he just did push ups for 1/2 a day and then started crawling by the end of the day. I thought he was going to skip crawling and just go straight to walking, but he surprised me. I had a lot of postings with another group on this and other Mom's had the same issue. Just give it time, it will happen or he will go straight to walking, Both are fine. The other group I belong to is on meetup.com and it is a first time Moms group with about 575 members. It has been a great place to chat with Mom's going through the same thing. |

No need to worry. My son never really did crawl; he was more interested in walking. My doctor told me that crawling was not a developmental milestone and not to worry. |

Hi Makina, first off I'm new and just saw your post. I wouldn't worry about it. Not all kids crawl. I was worried and I'm a first time mom as well. My son didn't start crawling until he was 11 months old and I thought he would just skip that and go right to walking. So it's normal to feel that way. |
