Changes........
My name is Andrea and my family is about to move back to the shreveport area after 2 1/2 years away. This is my hometown. We had moved to south La., and then to just south of the Fort Worth area. Our move date is in 3-4 weeks, so I have been searching for mom/playgrops in the area.

Since I've been in texas, I've been an active member and organizer of a moms' group on meetup.com, but there are no groups in the SBC area on meetup, and I'm not ready to think about starting up one from scratch again any time real soon. OMG, what a load of work THAT was, lol, but it did wind up being so worth it in the end, as I will be leaving some great mom friends and their kiddos from here in texas.

I have a 2yo and a soon to be 4 yo, both boys. This move is a bit of a leap of faith for us, but it's looking like it could be permanent which would make my mom, like happy!

So, the boys and I are used to staying busy with our playdate buddies. My husband will be working in the gas pipeline biz, and I am a sahm. Once we get moved and settled, I know I will be itching to be active in a playgrop once again, so any information you'll can share about your group's activities would be welcomed.

I look forward to talking to you'll!!

Hi, welcome to the group & LA. I'm a new SAHM to my son, Drake who will be 15 mo. old in a few wks. My hubby & I moved back here in ' 06. We moved out of state twice (Chicago, IL & Naples, FL) but this is home!! I can't imagine moving around with kids though - it must take alot of adjusting. Not to mention lots more stuff to move!! Hope everything goes smoothly.

My fiance is in the gas pipeline business too. We moved here from Fort Worth about 2 months ago also. What company does your husband work for? We are hoping this move will be permanent also. They are telling us 5 to 10 years but you know how that is it could be 5 to 10 days, weeks, etc. What a small world. Maybe we can get together and chat and let our kids play. I know it is very hard moving with kids. As soon as my 4 year old would make a friend we had to move and he was always so upset which broke my heart into pieces. I am hoping he can make lasting friendships here. I am hoping the same for myself as the same situation applies to mom usually too. Hope to hear from you!
