Recently having taken my Reiki Level 1, I became interested in crystals and their healing properties. I've gotten to know the owner of a little Crystal Shop here in Saskatoon and his partner who is a Crystal Healer. I've bought and read a few crystal books and one point has stuck with me, "misfits, asperger's & autistic children are they way they are because they do not see the earth as being their "home"; therefore they are not grounded".... this really rings true for my son who is an indigo child and was diagnosed with asperger's syndrome at an early age. Ever since he was little, he has described our house as "mom's house" and has never referred to it as "his house".
He has always been fascinated with rocks and I've bought him a few crystals to ground him and also help with his asthma and concentration. Being open to try anything once, I made him an appointment with the Crystal Healer this past Saturday and the only word I can use to describe it is WOW! I have never seen him so relaxed or breathe as deeply as he did in that session. I have to admit, while she was working on him and singing, I was a little freaked out thinking "what in the world are we doing here"... he layed there with such a sense of peace and relaxation on his face, one that I have never seen before. She pulled some things from his past life and said he was a Druid in the past life and was "cut off young". She also said that his breathing problems were because he wasn't use to breathing this air (earth air) <---- back to not seeing earth as their home, and she did some breathing exercises with him to help clear out his lungs and chakras. When I mentioned to her that I was surprised he didn't sit bolt upright when she was singing (in ancient Hebrew), she said it was because "he knew what she was saying and it was comforting to him".
To wrap it up... he hasn't used his inhaled since Friday (this time of year he needs it 4 or 5 times a day), and for the rest of the day Saturday there was such a sense of groundedness about him. He wants to go back and see her and to me... that says a lot! |

WOW!!! I will be taking Reiki 1 on November 9th, and I am excited, I am hoping to use it for my son as well who was diagnosed ADHD.
sounds like the crystal healer really did her job, wish we had one close by here (Arkansas is in the bible belt and that sort of practice is frowned upon) WOOHOOOO on not having to need his inhaler since Friday, I hope it continues to improve!
Very sad about his past life, looking into Druidry as a path in my life now, I fee la certain pull to it...possibly past life or just heritage calling me. |

It was amazing and I think you will really enjoy Reiki... it really put things into perspective for me and my son was one of the main reasons I took it... also diagnosed with ADHD/ Asperger's... you name it.
He has a lot of trouble falling asleep and when he is in bed he asks me to come and hold his hand (he's on a bunk bed) and the other night I figured I would do some reiki on him while I was holding it. I did reiki for about 10 minutes and then he pulled his hand away, said "thank you mommy" and went to sleep without another peep! If only I would have known it was that easy! haha
About the Druid past life... the Crystal Healer suggested I do some research into it, for his sake. It's not something I'm even remotely familiar with!
For your son, I would suggest just getting him a crystal... one to ground him perhaps. If you need help picking one out, just let me know! |

I was looking into it, there are crystal shops here, I just ordered a set a Chara crystals, but was thinking hematite for me (have trouble blocking out others emotions) and am not sure about him... he has serious anger issues and hyperactivity. he is home schooled because he has a hard time with focusing himself on the here and now, I think he has my ability to pick up on emotions and a classroom of 30 kids distracts him and makes him angry. his mind races so fast, I just need something to calm him and help him focus. So any suggestions would be great! THANX!.
Here is a link for Druidry, gives the basic beliefs, you may find your son has a lot of the characteristics. http://www.druidry.org/ GOOD LUCK!! |

My son is exactly the same way, he has trouble tuning out what everyone else if feeling and the Crystal Healer mentioned him picking up the vibrations of what is going on around him. He is in a smaller class of 12 students but I think that the majority of kids in his class are just like him... just imagine the chaos!! I am seriously considering home schooling him because it has gotten worse, not better.
For your sons anger.. does he have any triggers? And for the hyperactivity... does he sit still for something he is into (like cars or drawing)?
My son gets angry when he feels that adults are not treating him with respect (he sees himself as better or equal) or when someone wrongs him or someone he knows. He tries to be the authority keeper but does not understand that when he takes the "an eye for an eye" approach, he gets into trouble! As for sitting still... if it is school work and he just does not get it... he is not getting anything done and neither is anyone else in the classroom... but if you give him a piece of paper and some markers, he could sit and draw for hours!
I will take a look at my crystal books and together we can choose one for your son! Thanks for the link.. I'll check it out! |

LMAO surprisingly my son is a rock collector, that does calm him!! So if I handed him one to ground him he would be in heaven.
As far as triggers, disappointment, in himself when he doesnt get something right, when others let him down, when he sees trash on the road, he is very set in his beliefs and how we raised him to be respectful of the Earth and when things dont go right he flies off the handle quickly. He has been to counselors and they have tried to teach him breathing techniques, counting, but nothing can calm him when he sees something wrong or gets frustrated with himself. If that helps at all.
Sounds like your son is an "old soul" too... knows how thew world SHOULD work and gets frustrated when it doesn't go according to plan. |

I think the rock thing is definitely a trait of these kids. After he was done with the Crystal Healer, we went into the crystal shop, borrowed John's magnifying glass and was going around checking out all of the crystals. I literally had to drag him out of there because he didn't want to leave!
It really worries me, when I hear about counsellors and behavioural therapists and medicating these kids... what are we doing to them and why is it, when there are more and more of them, we expect them to change and not society's way of thinking or dealing with them? And I have to admit, I'm one of those parents that have been to a hundred different counsellors and tried pretty much every type of strategy there is and also have resorted to medicating him. As I learn more and more about him and myself, I know that its not the answer and I am inhibiting his growth! |

Hi Ladies, Tamara that is wonderful that your son has been able to help point you in the direction of your life's purpose, you must be starting to find a level of satisfaction and peace in knowing you are contributing to the world to make it a better place, we all need more healings. Nicole, I was struck by your statement about others emotions, sounds like you are an "Empath" and your son, look into it and you will pick up little hints and tips to help him along his way. I am a member of an empath group which is great, check it out: http://empathcommunity.ning.com/ You will find me under the name: iwishuenough Good luck ladies with your spiritual journeys. Regards, Gaye |

Thanks Gaye! Yeah, I never gave myself an official title (mainly because I was raised by a strict Christian who thought any of that was "witchcraft" even though she admits to having it as well as my brothers and sisters), but I am sure I am empathic, and all 3 of my boys as well to some degree, just in different ways of their own, James (the one I talk about) has the hardest time dealing with it. I will look up the group, thanks for sharing that!
I totally agree with you Tamara, I refuse to medicate, I like my son as he is, he just needs a lil help. all his counselors have tried to eventually put him on meds which is why I never stuck with one longer than a few months. as if drugs are the ONLY answer, I dont believe that at all. these kids are evolving, we need to evolve with them if they are to find self worth, not treat them as a disease where they feel something is terribly wrong with them. I am sure you will find what works for both of you, and it will be so much better than what the "market" is pushing these days :) |

My son loves crystals! I tried to find him a rock hounding club but I couldn't find one. He has a huge box of rocks he has collected. I got tired of them all over the place so I suggested putting them in our labrynth. This worked well, not there is only a small pile in his room. I am very interested in the crystal healing thing. We have been seeing a Homeopath for many years and I have seen so much improvement lately. I think reaching the other aspects of his energy would help balance him out a little more. I loved hearing about your sons improvement! This is wonderful. I remember the first time I saw a change in my son, I think I finally took a breath that day. Keep us updated on his progress, its fascinating! |

I just noticed this thread :) I have been attuned to Reiki 2 and have taken a crystal healers course. My experiences with Reiki have been life changing, it has made me a better human being, mother and teacher. My daughter definitely helped lead me back on my path with this, she has helped me to develop some of my "indigo" traits that I forgot about. She loves crystals and nature. She is luckily not afraid of the spirit side anymore...I still am LOL |
