Hi, my name is Crystal I'm in Indiana and i'm kind of new to staying at home with my children. 7, 3, and 2 years old. I'm finding myself becoming sort of depressed and feeling like I don't have any direction. I know I should make a schedule and stick to it but i'm having trouble getting going in the mornings. Does anyone know if this is common? I'd love to join some local playgroups and things but i'm not from here and i don't know anyone... Any suggestions... |

Hi Crystal, Welcome to the group! I was born & raise in Jersey until my husband & I moved to Pennsylvania 4 yrs ago. His family lives in PA but my family lives bk in Jersey & so does all of our close friends. Bk in April I joined a fabulous group through meetup.com. I've gotten to know PA more then I ever thought & made some wonderful friendship not only for me but for my son. Good Luck & I hope you find a nice playgroup for you & your kids. If you have any questions let me know =) |

Hi Crystal, I really do think it is normal to feel a little depressed at times especially when we are stuck in the house without any adult conversations for the whole day. I think that schedules are really great and help alot. Making sure you schedule a little "you" time is also really important. "We" as parents really need to spend a little time away to miss our kids and to re-energize. I am actually going to join a health club soon near me to get a little me time. A lot of fitness centers have child care too. If you don't know many people this is also a great way to get to know people in classes like yoga or whatever you may be interested in. Good Luck! |

Hi, Crystal. My name is Amanda and I am in a very similar situation. I have just recently moved from Mo. to Fl. And I know no one. I have always worked outside the home till this move and I can tell you it is not always easy to adjust too. I have never lived more than an hour from my family, so that plays a part. I love the area we live in and can appreciate the benefits of being home with my daughter. Who turned three this Aug. She is such a great little girl. With that said, I thought I was the only one who feels depressed sometimes. Seriously, Yesterday was really bad. We had to have work done on some floor in our house,So my daughter and I couldn't leave for two days. We don't do much during the day. Yet, I take her to the park or if just to the store. It is enough to just get out of the house. I am seeking a play group for us. Its harder than some might think. I don't know the area very well, so I don't want to go far from home. I might have a lead on one playgroup though there is a application process. Kinda like a job interview, they have to meet and decide if we are right for their group. I have found since I don't have any place to be at any certain time, that I don't get going as early as I once did. Well, not that I helped you.Thought that I'd just say there are moms out here with the same struggles. You are not the only one.If you go to meet up.com they have some different sites that seem to have more moms and groups. Good Luck If you ever on here during the day and just want to chat that would be good. Amanda |

Hi, my name is Ericka I live here in Nebraska and I have been a stay at home mom for about 2 years due to some health issues. I would say that a having a schedule would really help out. Have you looked for any playgroups in the area? Hope this helps! Ericka www.healthrepsneeded.com |
