I researched ADHD on line but my daughter was not a candid for it. I did tons of research I know there are services for some diagnosis. You can call them and they will set up a eval and you go from there. Most of them take your insurance info. first I guess to make sure you can pay for the services or go through Easter Seals. They were a great help and they will tell you were to go from there. There in your phone book for your area.

they have said something about my son possibly having that, they want to rule it out. i try to stay on a routine schedule as much as possible but when my son wants to do something and i try to redirect him away from it, he goes into screaminga nd having bad fits. lately he hasnt wanted to take a bath or shower at night and he wants to fit me about it. I have tried several different appraoches but nothing seems to work. He is getting services but the things that i have been told to try dont work for a long period of time for him. do u have any suggestions on what i can do. I would greatly appericate anything you tell me.

HI Leah. Just so you know Asperger's kids do not have any speech and language issues. So if your son did/does, it is not that. My son had severe speech and language delays and many social developmental "red flags" they call them. Sounds a lot like your son. He has horrible fits, and a lot of trouble listening. Some of it is stubborness, some is his delays and inability to understand us and our emotions. He has very little empathy so he doesn't really get mad or sad. They think he may also have ADHD and/or OCD, but we aren't worrying about that quite yet. Right now he is in a four day a week preschool class. He goes for an hour and a half. It is an ABA:Discret Trial Teaching environment. He loves it and it seems to really be helping him AND us. Hope that helps. Keep me posted!
