| Hello everyone, my name is Jen and I am new here. I am white and my husband is black. We just had our first child... a daughter named Alexandria. She's beautiful! :-) My question is, how long does it normally take for them to get a little bit of their color? She will be 6 weeks old at the end of this week and she is pretty white. I was just wondering how that goes. Thank you in advance!! |

| Hi. I have the same situation, I'm white and my husband is black. Our daughter, who is 16 months now, is very white. People think she is Italian and not half black. Anyway, they say that if you look at the tips of her ears that that will be her color. At 6 weeks, she might already have all of her color. |

| Oh wow... doesn't look like she will get too much darker then. I just want people to know that she is my husband's daughter too. I thought that all biracial children looked "tan"... i guess i was wrong. Does your child have soft silky hair? I just have so many questions. LOL... Thanks for your input! |

| The hair was my biggest worry, but Mya has very soft, thin hair. I kept waiting for Mya to get darker, but she never did. Feel free to email me with any questions! |

| So far Alexandria has very soft hair and its very curly when its wet... Your daughter is BEAUTIFUL! |

| Thanks!! Mya's hair is curly too when it's wet. I love the little ringlet curls. My guess is your daughter's hair will stay that way, especially since her skin tone is light. |

hello i new to this site also but my kids r bi-racial they r black/mexican/white except one she 75% white 25% mexican only one of my kids came out dark when his friends meet me they think im gonna be black lol. im mexican/white n my dh is black my 3 older children are not his biological children just the last 3 my oldest dd when she came out she looked very white her ears was the only thing that had color but she is 16 now n u can tell she is mixed n ppl dont think she is they just think shes light skinned lol.its her hair that makes ppl think that tho her hair isnt like mixed ppls hair its more nappy n she hates it.my 15 yr old son he came out so dark i couldnt baleive he came from me hes even darker then his own dad.lol.now my kids that i have with my dh they are very light skinned but u can tell they are mixed.my 6 yr old u cant tell she has mexican in her she looks just like a white girl lol but i love her n my other kids r very protective of her ppl just fall in love with her she has this personality that draws u in

| oh sorry i was gonna tell you that my 3 yr old has long curly locks of hair its beautiful n she was born with all that hair to lol but heres some advice ok dont let noone tell u to put a straightening perm in her hair itll ruin her hair for life i made that mistake with my oldest dd n now her hair has never been the same she had good hair but its nappy n she lost all her curl n it hasnt came back since n its been 6 yrs since the perm.so i know i wont make that mistake twice |
