I had troubles with Abby at first when she actually went to sleep in different places. Once I learned to NEVER let her sleep in her swing, bouncer or play gym I was doing well. I also learned to never let her spend anytime in her crib. She is only kept in her crib to sleep or get changed. Since it's been that way for so long, when we put her down she just knows 'hey the mobile's playing, my nightlights on, I guess it's time to go to sleep.'
Sometimes it works perfectly and sometimes it doesn't, but I can tell you this. I've been sleeping through the night comfortably for the last three weeks.:)

Melanie, I agree with the crib idea you have. My son Luke only goes in the crib to sleep & generally does pretty well with it. When he was in the bassinet he would wake up at least once or twice in the night. Since 2 months when he switched to the crib, he sleeps all night. He sleeps more soundly there than in the swing, bouncer, etc so naptimes are better spent in the crib too. Enjoy your comfortable sleep! |
