Cloth diapers

Just want to say Hi!
I've been using cloth diapers on my daughter for almost 9 months now. I wish I would have looked into them with my son because I love them. I've now started trying to sew my own just for fun. I think that Bumgenius diapers are a great bulletproof diaper, but I have to say that my absolute favorite (of what I've tried) are Preston's Pants. They fit my daughter perfectly and I love love love them!!

HI,
sounds great! My baby boy finally arrived 15 days ago and since the first day at home, i ve been using fuzzi bunz! We are happy so far, but now he got a diaper rush... even i used baby powder the whole time. Now i switched to normal diapers to use rush cream. Do you have some experience with that? I thought of using the rush cream with the cloth diapers, but they dont recommend it. Is there any other way i can get rid of the rush and still use my fuzzis? Thank you

If you have some old t-shirts you can cut them up and use them as a liner. Just put it between the baby and diaper and put the cream on him. That way the cream doesn't get on the diaper. They also have flushable liners that you can buy for the same purpose, but for right now you can cut up an old t-shirt or almost any type of fabric would work. I hope that helps!

Hi! :)
when you say "rush" do you mean thrush? thrush = yeast infection.

i would not use cloth with a thrush outbreak and strip your diapers before you use them again on your baby. you risk reinfecting him if you don't get the yeasties out of the diaper.

liners would work but i've found that they bunch up and the cream is not safe with cloth b/c of staining, causing stink, and ruining the waterproofing in the diapers. there are a few safe ones. check this website for more info on the safe ones.

Hey, no actually i mean rash.... =) i asked my doc and he said it is fine and should go away just with a cream. He said it is safe to use with the diapers.The liners are working just fine for now, i hope it is going to be better soon, but thank you for the tip!

don't use anything with zinc oxide or liver cod those are the two ingredients that will cause issues on cloth. :)

thrush = yeast rash. :)

Regarding a rash...using liners for creams is a good idea, I use fleece from the dollar rack at walmart. I tend to just throw them out at diaper changes then. If you wash them make sure to wash them separate from dipes. If not you will need to strip the dipes to make sure it all if off of them. On the other hand, going the diapersafe route, I've had good results with mylanta and cornstarch.
