Hi I'm a step mother to a 9 year old girl and i have two smaller girls myself aged 2 and 1, while we all blend in lovely every weekend , it's extremely challenging dealing the differences on how her family and us want to raise her

Welcome to the group Ronnie!! I will say that I have been in a step family situation for 9 years and although it is difficult it can be rewarding too. Blending families smartly can be like navigating a mine field. Communication and expectations need to be clear between parents.

Hi Ronnie, I am a step mother of an 8 almost 9 year old and also mother of 3 girls. This is one of the fun challenges of being in a blended family. Just remember that you have no control over what any other person does, only over yourself.( I have to remind myself of this often with my ex husband) You can only lead by example. Children do really well with different rules at different places, they are very adaptable. Dont allow yourself to get into...they are wrong or they should not do that. Just let her know, at this house we have this rule....just like at school you have different rules. Be consistant and remember it is a challenge for her too:) Good luck
