TERRIBLE TWOS!!
Okay ladies I am dying need of help here. I have gone to the doc about it and all he suggested was the playpen. lol. I have literally tried everything. She is 26 months old and everyone that meets her say she is a terror. Someone in a store one time actually said she was SATAN. I freaked out on the lady cause that wasnt right. Besides that she was actually not being that bad compared to normal. I have tried yelling talking spanking going in the corner. you name it I have done it. I am just at a loss.
See my husband is a Marine and is currently deployed so it is my daughters and I all the time. My two year old is a daddys girl all the way. She lived daddy for almost a year until he deployed this April. When daddy was around she wanted nothing to do with me and when he wasnt home she talked and asked for him all the time. I know that she is still having seperation issues from him but what more can I do?

PLEASE HELP ME!!

Thanks,
Kimmy

This is a though one! Just because that is a way to express her pain of not having the daddy around.

Maybe you can try the "daddy game" so she would feel her father being part of her everyday life. Ask her to : draw something for her daddy, or ask what she would like to play if her daddy was there or when he will be back, make her pick presents for him...anything you can think of that could make the separation less painful.

Kimberly,

The terrible twos on top of missing Daddy makes for a rough road for Mommy. Maybe you can also send tape recored messages or even video back and forth thru the mail so that your little one can see or hear daddy. Even giving her her own special picture of him could help. She could carry it with her when you go to the store or even put it beside her bed at night. As tempting as it may be to let her get away with things because she misses Daddy, now is a REALLY crucial time to follow thru and be consistent with what you expect from her as well.

Thank You ladies for the reply. As far as the picture and video thing.....She has what is called a "daddy doll" it is a picture blown up to 17" and printed on a pillow type. That helps her alot and he left her a video before he left that she watches everyday. He does not have access to anything he can make a video or tape anything for her. I wish deployments would be that easy. lol. Well Thank You all for the advice and I will definately take that into consideration. We do the links game which is where we make a link chain for every day he is away with construction paper. She draws and I write on every link and we put them together. Then when daddy gets home she can give it to him to show him that she thought about him everyday he was gone. Once again Thank You!!

Sounds like you are doing the right stuff!! Two is a tough age. I have a two year old son and some days I'm not sure who is winning. My dream is still for a velcro wall and child size velcro suits so that I can hang them up for a bit so that I can catch my breath!! They are so busy and so hard to keep up with. But, then I remember that God has blessed me with two beautiful HEALTHY boys. They are able to move and play and yes even aggrevate! But, many mothers aren't so lucky. Today was one of those Mommy feels guilty for yelling so much days so I am going to take a deep breath, thank God for my blessings and maybe even go to town and price velcro!!! hee hee hee!!
