Hello,
I'm new to the term "spirited child". What is the difference between spirited and indigo? I'm not sure what category does my son fall in. |

I checked Wikipedia for Indigo Children, but I was not too sure myself. This is what it said: "In the New Age movement, Indigo children are children who are believed to represent a higher state of human evolution. The term itself is a reference to the belief that such children have an indigo colored aura.[1] Beliefs concerning the exact nature of Indigo children vary, with some believing that they have paranormal abilities such as the ability to read minds, and others that they are distinguished from non-Indigo children merely by more conventional traits such as increased empathy and creativity. There is no scientific support for these claims."
According to Mary Sheedy Kurcinka, auther of "Raising Your Spirited Child", a spirited child is: "The word that distinguishes spirited children from other children is more. They are normal children who are more intense, persistent, sensitive, perceptive, and uncomfortable with change than other children. All children possess these characteristics, but spirited kids possess them with a depth and range not available to other children. Spirited kids are the Super Ball in a room full of rubber balls. Other kids bounce three feet off the ground. Every bounce for a spirited child hits the ceiling."
I hope that helps. |
