| My son is 2 1/2 yrs old. He was on anibotics for pnuemonia (can't spell sorry), last week. He finished his medicine on sunday and now his penis and balls (what ever you want to call them), are soooooo RED, and swollen! I put diaper rash medicine on it but, seems to not work since it makes it moist and adds to the rawness of it! What should I use? baby powder. Poor guy walks bow legged because it hurts him.. Please let me know if any one knows of something to do for him.. If it gets too bad I am going to take him to the dr. but would rather avoid the copay and medicine copay!! Please help my little guy, though not to little he is as big as a 4 yrs old... |

It sounds like he may have a yeast infection from the antibiotics. You can use the cream that you would use for athletes foot. You can by it over the counter, its called Lotrimin or you can by the generic brands. That should clear up in a few days, if not call your dr. I also swear by Triple Paste for diaper rashes. Use that after to help with the rash.

| I second the triple paste! And don't use diaper wipes for a few days. Use either cotton balls dipped in lukewarm water (I keep a little tupperware bowl of lukewarm water in the changing area) or use soft paper towels dipped in the water. Even the "sensitive" wipes can irritate a diaper rash. |

| corn starch is my life saver! It is the best thing on earth and in my opinion works better than any diaper rash cream!!!! |
