Hi Rhonda, my name is Christie. I can not compare my experiences to yours, not even close. I do think you are on the right path with talking about what "ails you" Sometimes just being able to talk openly is what you need at the time to make things seem more "real" or less hectic. My son has a huge speech delay, but I believe he will overcome this obstacle. I have never had an open one on one verbally conversation with him such as... Hi sweetie how is your day, what do you want to eat today..."pancakes mom". but I do know he understands me and if I watch how he interacts and gives gestures and uses different sounds or half words then it makes me feel at peace. I was spending so much time thinking on what I wanted and getting frustrated that I was not "there" for him completely. If your husband is seeking work as a retreat or excuse to give himself a break, maybe that is all he can offer. Sometimes by not doing something.. is something. If he can not handle anymore than what he is handling..he might make matters worse
I recently started going to a church, it feels good to be around people that are seeking a greater influence than what they have or know, thats the start..then you become someone who seeks greater goodness in your life. I think you might be having a problem with feeling alone. If you are not getting the relationship that you have always dreamed of with your daughter and your husband might make you feel abandoned by not being more helpful or just more there for you, that can cause " aaahhhh ness"
Okay here is what I heard at church that I think you might prosper from as well...." Your husbands are not here to fill in the holes(pain) that others might have put in you when you were growing, they are here now to love you and be a partner to you."
Try to get an outside source for you and your husband to have for your own sanity or peace of mind...he can have a guys night out..and you can maybe join some kind of womens group..YOU time is in order..then you can walk back into your life instead of stomping everywhere you walk. I hope this was helpful in some way.
My husband is working on being more "there" for me, I was not communicating to him what I needed from him, to help me. You are a strong woman Rhonda. :)

Christie, is right!! Husbands dont understand what we go through everyday with our children. They just think "moms are suppose to know" Just ask for the support or a hug.

Hugs.

True, husbands just assume you can hand;e whatever and doesn't always see you need something. If you are like me, you just deal and go on until you just "explode"so to speak. My husband has gottne better at trying to give me a few minutes for "reflection" when he sees I have had a bad day.
Sometimes it is easier to ask, but I usually forget that part.
Have a great day!!!

Hi I'm new to this group, I have a 7 year old who has a few issues, some say she has ADD/ a developmentaqlist says sje has MR. My little girl has a speech delay also but she just had a cleft palate surgery to help add muscle to help her speak clearer and pronounce more sounds, helped intenesely, she was also a child that was FTT, failure to thrive, she wouldn't grow or gain wait, she had a nasal gastric tube since she was 3 months old, then she started to rip that out so we moved to a stomach feeding tube, nightly hookups were an extra feedings, After 5.5 years of that she's never nneded it , and has gained steadily.. I have been around to many specialist in 7 years, and I would love to share any info that may help other moms, and chat about our children. I still have obsticles to climb also.

HI all!!
I am glad that all is well and welcome new members!!
My 11 yr old has adhd and my 7 month old has reflux and is seeing a OT and gettign ready to see a PT. We also see a nutritionist once a month.
He is just now gaining weight well, he hasn't doubled his birth weight yet but is almost there. He is pretty well on age for everything else and we saw lots of drs when he was little with him being small. Although he wieghed 8 lbs 2 oz and was 21 in at birth.
The 11 yr old is also bipolar. He is a great kid, but a handful. He is on Foclin xr and resperidal. He is very smart, but has a hard time behaving and can get reallyhard to deal with.
It is hard on his sister sometimes. She is 13.
The 4 yr old I have is very spirited and we worry that he is going to have a lot of the same problems that the 11 yr old has.
When my oldest two go to their dads, they are hard to deal with for a few days after they come home. I think it is just stress and having to readjust to a different enviroment. It is hardest on the 11 yr old cause of his dxs.
Well I am going, Have a great day!!!
Marie
