Keeping my 2 year old in his car seat
Hi my son is almost 2 and he keeps taking off the top straps off of him in his car seat. He is still buckled up on the bottom but I am afraid if we get in an accident. We tried to twist the top so he can't pull it down. Telling him not to do it is not working. By the time the car is started his arms are free. We were going to try a new car seat ( one that you use with the seatbelt in the car)
Please help!!!!!!
Thank you,
Shealynn

I bought the Britax car seat, he can use the car seat up to 7 yrs old. For the first 3 yrs of his life he can seat rear facing, and then forward facing. The seat is completely secure and the seatbelt is lock to it. It also come with two more belts to lock it behind the main seat and to the hook whithin the main seat. So you have the car seat secure to the main seat three ways. The car seat have 5 point harness, they are adjusted by puling the bottom belt under the seat, So once you find the comfort level to stap your kid, He won't be able to take the straps off. It is expensive from $200's and up. But well worth the investment. Also the safety fixture that I love the most if the head area, it has this hard head rest that in case of an accident the kids head is contained. You have to search the britax website and see the model you like. I suggest to buy it trough Amazon or any other search engine cheaper than the store and w/variety of colors. I forgot from which website I got it but it was 30% cheaper than in any other store. Also from consumer reports is the #1 rated in everything.

I read from another website a tip from a mom. She named her child as "chief of seatbelts" his job was to make sure everyone is buckle up. That was the solution for her to keep him buckle at all times. Giving him a sense of ownership of the moment and he had to give an example and show everyone how it should be done.
