Yes, I have been busy and not around much, but things are going great with Jake. I don't take too many opportunities to cheer my little guy on, because I don't want it to seem like a brag, I am just so happy to have results! This week and today he is just blowing me away, and I had to share!
There have been quite a few new things he has added to his vocabulary, and adding short sentences daily... it's incredible!
The other night, out on the deck we were looking at the stars, he said "stars!" and then he shook his head and said -- "no moon". That's right, the moon wasn't out!
Monday, after dropping Sammi off at PreK, there was water in the road from a fire hydrant being drained, and he said, "all wet!" Yea, the road was all wet!
Friday, after he bonked me in the head reaching for the same toy at the same time, then me sitting on the floor crying because i was so overwhelmed with my bad day (and it hurt too), he patted me on the head and said, "iss ok", then tried to drag me to the kitchen telling me "bambay, bambay" (to get a bandaid for my head... haahha)
Then later, when I was carrying him out to the van to leave to take Cody to work, and he dropped his ball and he said, "I get ball".
And later that afternoon, after he gave me a box of cereal bars for me to open, he said, "I want this".. so clearly!!
** Oh, yea, I forgot... when daddy was pushing him on the swing the other night, he was going pretty high, and Jake said, "aaahhhh, I sceered!" Oh my! It's so cute! And he said it in the grocery store when underneath all the overhead Halloween decorations (giant spiders, ack!)... It's amazing! **
Today he said "open it" so clearly for me to open the bubbles, and more often he is saying, "I want that". Oh and he's saying "kien ku" (thank you!) now too!
What a week of accomplishments! My little guy is entering the world of conversation! How great is that?!
It's gotta be the fish oil.. LOL! (and a lot of work from mommy) Thanks for reading... there is great hope in our future!! |

That is wonderful Annette. How old is Jake? Josh just turned 3 and we are starting to get short sentences more and more. I have to say though that he doesn't like those Lil Critters Omega 3 gummies and for me personally, I think they have a strange texture/taste. Is there anything else someone can recommend? |

Hi Lisa and thanks! Jake is 2 1/2. He won't be 3 until Dec 15. All of this progress has just been in the last couple of months, but the majority of it with the sentences has been in the last few weeks. It's happening really fast!
I love that he is becoming more spontaneous with his language and not just things that are familiar to him.... This morning, his sister was harping at him "to stop copying her". They were both bobbing their heads to a song on the way to school... well, he told her, "I dancin!".
Anyway, read this post: http://www.raisingthem.com/posts/view/66180/fish_oil.html
I break down the labels for Nordic Naturals (which is what we use) and the Li'l Critters.
I also have a ton of info on fish oil about companies adding "non fish oil things" to bring up the omega 3 count and calling it fish oil!
email me for more info.... :o) |
