Hi. I'm Fae, mom to 9 month old Anna. I thought we were only going to breastfeed for the first 6 months, but because it's been touch to keep a solid schedule and b/c I'm not ready to stop, I'm still nursing.
Anyone have tips for weening nursing?
I work part time and will nurse Anna before work and when I come home. She seems to need that comfort and has trained herself to only eat 1/4 to half of her baby food with my husband. Then when I come home, she'll finish... I'm comfortable with it now, but don't want any of us to rely on nursing especially if I can take on more clients. However, I nurse exclusively at night. We typically sleep right through it, but lately I've been waking up whenever Anna tosses and turns...
Sorry, there are so many concerns in my first post! I'm excited to join this group, especially since I don't see anyone nursing in public or in family bathrooms (the mom's room at Babies R Us is ok)... I've been retreating to a bathroom or my car if we're out.
Anyway, I look forward to browsing through the posts and reading back from members. :) |

I don't have any tips on weaning since I let the kid decide when to wean pretty much,
Don't be ashamed to nurse whereever. Nursing is a natural and beautiful thing. You obviously don't go to my church since I was whipping out the boob to nurse my 18mo right in the pew just this morning LOL.

I do not have any plans with stopping nursing. I nursed my 6 year old daughter until she was 10 months. This was with me working full time between her age of 6weeks and 10months. My son is different. I know I am going to be working full time. I also know that I can pump. But I am wondering if I need to do something to prepare both of us for this change. I do not want my milk supply to decrease. I really enjoy nursing and I plan on doing it for as long as possible. |
