my little angel is teething and is so uncomfortable and irritable and cranky and fussy and i feel so bad for her i almost cry myself. She has a runny nose with clear drainage and no fever. I give her teething tablets and tylenol as needed and she doesn't like the cold rings.. I was wondering if any other mommies had this, I heard that when a baby is teething it can feel like a bad tooth ache...I think she is getting 2 top ones now, she got the bottom two front ones at 4 months and had the same rough time without the runny nose...also she has been sleeping through the night now for the past 4 nights and only wakes up about 530 for a minute and goes right back to sleep..I am also sleeping better too. She is not really bothered by her teething at night which is a blessing so at least she can sleep peacefully then. She does seem a little more tired during the day though.. I just wanted to hear other stories so I wouldn't feel soo bad for my little one... |

My son is 16 months and STILL has a terrible time when he is teething. He gets the runny nose, but it is also usually accompanied by a fever. Orajel doesn't work too well for some reason, but Tylenol usually works. It will be over before you know it! Good luck! |

My son will be one next month and heres some of the home remedies ive used: Dip a nipple or get water in a pacifiar and freeze it, or i put fresh frozen fruit in one of those things that have a net that keeps them from choking on fruit seeds. Cantaloupe and honey dew worked the best for him and its very healthy!! You can even put ice cubes in those things but it makes a watery mess! These methods have worked when the teething tablets have failed!! |

Use Hyland's Teething tablets!! They work instantly!! I swear by them. You can find them in any drug store. |

I have found that when it comes to teething Motrin works a whole lot better than tylenol. |

My son actually use to choke on the Hyland's tablets (contains belladona -narcotic) and would throw up Tylenol (he has a really bad gag relflex). Another mom friend of mine recommended Camilia (which is a homeopathic remedy you can get at Whole Foods or other organic stores). You can use it for kids from 4 mos. on I believe. It almost looks like water. It also contains medicine in it to calm their stomachs, which often get upset when the saliva from the teeth comin in gets into their stomachs. It was the only thing my son could keep down! It has helped him through all his teeth coming in (now that he is 18 mos.). I still don't give my son Tylenol because you're not supposed to give it to them on a regular basis (and it felt like my son was teething almost every other day). Camilia was the safest/most effective medicine on the market.
