If i may, i want to refer you to psalm 23: " The lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his names sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. your rod and your staff they comfert me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enembies. You annoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and i will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
My friend, i understand your troubles, and for as long as you live on this earth there will be troubles, but The lord will provide for he has promised, we shall truly want for nothing in the faith of our God, and when we can let go of the grip we have on such uncontrollable situations such as our financial nightmares, then will we be blessed, look not through the tunnel you concentrate your energy on, but focus on the path that God leads you. Beside you are the footsteps lit by our faith and with knowing where we are going we can trust that it is right, for God is at our side.
Pray for the strength and patience to hand over your problems to God and not for an immediate solution for all things are in His time, and most of the time His time is not our time.
I hope these words have helped you my friend

I know exactly how you feel. It is the same thing with me and my fiancee. He works, and i stay home with our daughter. And its like everytime we are starting to get ahead, just a little, something else happens. it is just never ending, and now with winter coming we have to worry about oil too. He even just got a raise, and it seems like there are more bills to pay. we try saving change, or you can put away just 10 dollars a week. Thats what we have been doing for my daughter for college, (most weeks we do it) but just ten dollars a week isnt much. And at theend of the year its 520... it isnt alot, but its something. And for college, thats 520 for 18 years, which i think is about 9300. just get one of those huge jugs that you use for water coolers, and just put pennies in it. someone told me they did that, and it took 2 years to fill it. But afterwards it was almost 2000, in only pennies! i mean thats alot. I know it is hard, but doing little things like that will really add up. |

I have to say I know how you feel also.. last year in 07.. I got this overwhelming feeling of sickness over our financial problems... I am a sahm and my hubby works... he travels for work. what we did was make a budget and follow through.. i even joined how to shop for free group on yahoo and other financial how to on yahoo.. I started to coupon for food... and learn the ropes of cvs and other stores to get money back from them... it is a learning process and it takes one step at a time.. I can tell you I have spreadsheet all our expenditures and have actually saved some money this year so it helped.. I want bigger things (like everyone else in the world) but with God in my life I know I have what is needed..... You can do this too.. from saving pennies in a jar to making the money you spend anyway for bills go along way because you learned how to be frugal.. it hurts but when you feel the relief of knowing you paid your bills and are ok for the month you actually get over the hurt and start patting yourself on the back... Good luck. |

You are not alone. I feel the same way. I work 3 days a week, and my hubby works FT, and everything keeps getting more and more expensive! |
