How much fun do our little ones really have when they are on vacation. It seems like there schedule gets all messed up and they dont have thier bed and is it all really worth it? We went away for the weekend. Alicia has not been herself, a little more grumpy then normal. We get to see family though so I guess there is a plus. She really does not like to sleep in her pack and play though. |

oh i hear ya on that one....
my inlaws bought a crib..second hand...and that made life so much easier for us... i try to make a point though, no matter where we go that Azrael gets his nighttime bath...and a bubby...so we stick to his normal "routine" as much as possible...
that seems to help alot...and family understandss that...if they have ever raised children, then they should....
but alot of the time, i find that it is easier to put him in bed wit us...he settles faster... |

Jack is usually fine wherever we go as long as there is a place away from all of the activity where he can sleep. He took a nap in his pack and play outside at my parents' house a couple weeks ago, and he was fine.
We have not tried any more than a day away from home yet, though, but I'm sure he will be fine. We were considering a vacation next month that would be a 12 hour drive, but I don't think I want him in his carseat that long. He is very active and probably won't be happy. I think we are going to go someplace closer, like a 4 hour trip. |

I agree, although I won't give up traveling. But, last weekend we were in Chicago and Zoe's schedule was so MESSED UP. She was getting 4 hours of sleep at night verses her 12 hours straight here at home. She got sick on the trip too, and that's where I get really stressed because she's not herself, and she can't enjoy the trip either. Hopefully each trip will get easier. When we get home it's back to normal schedule no if's and's or butt's LOL :) |
