You may want to check out this group which focuses strictly on homeschooling. http://www.raisingthem.com/groups/view/100258/Homeschooling_Parents/

I'm interested in finding out this answer, so I'll post a question there!

Hi,
just was going to say we enrolled our daughter at 6months old into the A+ child development program. The child is in the program until age 10 but are helped throughtout their entire school years...even college and university. Fantastic program!! Highly recommend it.

Is that the name of the program? A+ ?

Yes it's called A+ child delevopment program. and also if you have more kids later on they are automatically in the program as well and it is world wide so if you ever move you don't have to change anything.

Thanks Virginia, I'll check it out. If you don't mind telling me, how much does it cost?

Hi Bonnie,
When we started it was $4000 for all books and necessary learning tools...was going up to $6000. We got started as test subjects and I'm very glad we did it. There are many payment options available as well. Hope this helps you.

Its better (in my opinion) to put your child in a school enviroment. When they are with other kids their age they learn social skills needed in the future. Some home schools may work out but I'm speaking from experience on one that didn't. I have 3 younger siblings who are in their 20's, havent finished school and are painfully shy. I hated my high school years but would rather go through them again than be home schooled.

I guess it depends on your experience. I have several friends who were homeschooled, and they are all very outgoing and have a lot of friends. Two of them just graduated from college, and the others are enrolled in great universities. I also think it depends on the support you receive from other homeschool families in the area.
