Do twins have the same IQ? My twins, who is now 2 years and 5 months. My son uses full sentence when he talks. He learns very fast and is able to express himself very well. However, my daughter is not as smarter as him. My daughter uses one word or two words when she talks to me. I am quite concern. Please tell me about your experience with your own twins. |

Just because your children are "twins" does not mean they have the same makeup...they are completely two separate beings. Of course they will not have the same IQ. You need to look at your kids as two completely different human beings and accept them for who they are. Enroll your daughter into an Early Intervention program through your state. BEST thing my husband and I did for both of our kids to give them a head start--can only stay in until the age of 3 (which you are close) but once they turn 3, you can enroll them into a sponsored pre-school to take over services. |

Just because they are twins definitely does Not mean they have the same IQ. They are two totally different people and they will learn at their own pace. If you are concerned about your daughter you might want to talk to her pediatrician. Did they have a 2 yr checkup at the DR? If so, did they ask you about how many words they have? Was the DR concerned? You might want to talk to the Doctor again, and see what they recommend. Maybe she does need some kind of intervention. |

Is it possible that her brother is doing her communicating for her? My two are VERY different... we're not at the point where I expect them to talk, but their physical development is different (my son is doing more than my daughter). I can only imagine that verbal development will be similar (though at this point, she seems to be ahead of him in that department). I don't necessarily think that it implies that your son is smarter either... just more verbal. But if you're concerned definitely talk with the ped and get a referral to an early intervention program... doesn't hurt to catch it early! |
