| If you are new to the group, my apologies for not being around to give you a proper welcome. So...WELCOME!!! I hope for you and your children to make some really good friends here. For those of you that have been our existing members I offer my most sincerest regrets for not being around like I should have been. Things have been hectic (and even scary at times) to say the least. The anniversary of the most terrifying day in my life is now looming. On Sept. 30, 2007 my then 15 month old daughter had to be rushed to Rainbows E.R. Because, thankfully my daughter spiked a fever of over 102'F that helped bring to light that the antibiotics she had started receiving two days prior was actually an anti-seizure med that turned out to be at twice the normal dosage for a child of her size (given they actually needed those exact meds). As it turned out the pharmacy made what would otherwise have been a deadly mistake. Unfortunately (due to the med mix-up and also the trauma of the E.R.) some damage has been done; my beautiful, intelligent, most perfect and gorgeous child immediately lost her speech and ability to be even remotely comfortable with people out side our immediate family, also we later discovered she even lost her fine motor skills. So needless to say that for the past year my life has become even more revolved around her, and the efforts to get her better. Now I am very proud to say that at 27 months old she has a vocabulary of 30 words and some minimal sign language, and we finally found an Occupational therapist with-in the same organization as her Speech therapist that I think is really going to be able to do some wonderful things. So, now that we finally have a plan that is working I want everyone here to be reassured I will be around and more active with this group. As I should have been since starting it. |
