1st Birthday
Hi there to all the new ladies who just joined us: Velma, Laura, Sarah and Jane K!! So happy to hear from you all!!

I wanted to know what you all did for your child's one year birthday? I really want to go all out, but am overwhelmed by the different options. The invitations are sent and now I have to start planning. Angelina loves Disney's Bunnytown and was thinking of going with a bunny theme... Thanks for any advice you may have!

I arranged a grand one year old birthday celebration for my twins last year, 2007. We had it at the 5 starts hotel in its ballroom. The decorations was like a grand wedding. I need not have to do anything. At that time I was working and was quite busy. I did not have much time to think what to do for the celebration. So I put my trust first to God than in the hotel staff and leave everything to them. We just had to pay for it. They provided an excellent service. The ballroom was beautifully decorated with lots of pink and blue balloons tied to every chairs, stage and at the welcome reception counter. Nice set up buffet spread of foods for the adults and children. The children enjoyed the games and the adult enjoyed meeting each other. We had a huge beautiful mango cake specially baked by the hotel chef. Most of them enjojed the cake and the food very much. It was a memorable one. However, the maid purpose for me to celebrate such a grand one year old birthday celebration for my twins was because I wanted to give my testimony to all my family members, family in laws, friends and relatives about how good is our GOD. He blessed me twins, a boy and a girl after lots of prayers and waited patiently for 13 years since my marriage in 1993. In my heart, the most joyous part of the celebration was that I was able to give GLORY to God for what He had done in my life. Everything went perfectly beautiful on that day because I knew it was provided and arranged by our almighty God.

Okay, so on the other end of the financial spectrum.... With my first, we had a puppy-themed party with an adorable cake, but we had it outside at a really nice park. That way, any kids who came could play freely. With my second, we had just moved and didn't really know anyone, so it was a family party with us and the grandparents! Both were wonderful. If you are going with a bunny theme, why not see if you can find someone who raises rabbits to bring some so that the children can pet and feed them. When Emma turned two, she was really into horses, so we had a friend that had horses bring a small horse for "pony rides". All the children loved it, especially Emma. For me it is the little unique things that make occasions so special.
