I want to stay at home with my daughter, and my husband agrees, but my job provides our health insurance and his job doesn't offer it to him. What should we do?? Medical bills are expensive. |

I would look for a family insurance plan online. I did a google search and found this one: http://www.ehealthinsurance.com/ I don't know anything about it, so I'm not endorsing it, but they are out there.
Good luck to you and your family. I hope you can make it work so you can stay home. I'm thinking about making the switch as well. |

Try calling whatever your local insurance carrier is in your area and you should be able to get a quote for whatever plan would suit your needs. Try several companies for the best rates.Usually in the phone book, insurance agents will also list whether they deal with health insurance, too. So, in essence you would just have to pay a monthly premiuim on a plan directly from the insurance company itself. Good luck! |

w I am fortunate but maybe ask your work what options you have for working at home or part time and still get beneifts. We were in the same boat and I now work 25 hours a week at the office in order to keep my benefits for me and my son. We looked in to getting them through my husbands own company and I was shocked at the increase we would have to pay for me to leave. It just didnt make sense. This works for us but again I know not a lot of places will do this. Good luck! |

Hi Katie, I know how you feel about wanting to be home with your sweet baby girl. I wanted to let you know about an alternative to health insurance. I am a Certified Trainer with AmeriPlan. We offer a discount plan that is not insurance. We have 4 plans to choose from. We offer Dental, Vision, Prescription, Chiropractic, Physicians, Specialist, Hospital Advocacy, and a 24/7 nurse line. Our Discount plans can save you from 20-80% on your dental and medical expenses. Should you have an outpatient or in hospital procedure that runs over $2500.00 AmeriPlan can assign you a hospital advocate that will negotiate your cost and payments to the hospital. We have saved people thousands of dollars through this program. Our Total Health Plan cost just $39.95mo for your entire household. There is no deductibles, no age limit, and no paperwork. If you would like to take a look at our plans you may visit my website at www.everyonebenefits.com/rgodair. If you have any further questions you may call me at 888-245-9220. Thanks and Good Luck Roxanne |

Ok, I'm making the transition to being a SAHM too, and I called my health insurance company to see what my options were. There is a third party company that provides insurance for individuals and families for my current health care company (United Health Care). Here's my contact's info, if you want to contact him and see what he suggests. Good Luck!

HUSKY offers a great family plan, you should look into it. Time with your daughter is precious, I can't be away from mine. |
