new here and looking for other moms

iam german, 26years old and i have a 8month old daughter. i would like to get to know some other moms with small children, so my daughter can get some social skills and mommy hopefully new friends..

First of all, welcome to the area! I don't know your transportation situation, but there's a pretty active Mom's Group based out of Carthage (I know there's at least ten stay-at-home moms who meet in this group). They have some meetings in Carthage and others in Watertown. I haven't had time to attend any of their meetings yet, but I can get you the e-mail of the group's organizer if you want. Other than that, I'm also part of a group called the Watertown Jaycees. It's a young professionals organization and if you are looking to work while you're here, it's a great way to find out about jobs. The website is www.watertownjaycees.org. They have a mixer tomorrow night in downtown Watertown. There's a ton of Ft. Drum groups on www.meetup.com. I just started going to an historical fiction book club I found on there. Craigslist.com is a great source for finding out about groups. Good luck. Hope this helps!
