Hey just wanted to see how many people we have in here who are swimming. It is a great form of excercsie while also being easy on the body. It is also great fun for the whole family. We just took our daughter twice this week and she loves it. For those of you who have little ones like mine, walmart sells this turtle float that has its own splashing pool on it and a sun shade for about 10 dollars a very good deal. Hope everybody is doing well. I know it is getting busy, but don't forget to stop in every once in awhile just to let us know how you are all doing. Have a great day. |

I'd love to swim for exercise but our little town doesn't have an indoor pool anywhere, and by the time the city pool gets opened we'll be halfway through summer!
I don't like to swim (I can, I just don't like it) but I think I would really enjoy exercise in the water.
How about the rest of you? Got any place to swim? |

We are very lucky right now that we have a swimming pool in the apartment complex we live in. I am unsure of when we buy a house if we are going to get a pool in it, but that is a long way away so I have plenty of time. They do water aerobics and other workouts at YMCA programs, but if you buy yourself a little waterboard you can use it as a float and also to help strengthen your legs. We also go to what my husband and his family call the beach here in Michigan. For me it is nothing, but what it is a lake. The state has just made places with sand around them. I am from Florida so if it isn't salt water it isn't a beach. Well enough about that. Where has everybody been. It seems we have grown bigger, but have less people communicating? |

I'm still here, but it is hard to get on sometimes to talk to everyone now that school is out. I have one kiddo that is going into 3rd grade this year (can't believe that!) so now I have to coordinate her "social life" of getting together with friends to play. Speaking of swimming, I love it and so do both of my girls. My youngest just learned how to go down the slide at one of the local pools in our community here in The Woodlands, TX. It is so hot here that swimming is the thing to do during the summer. Luckily, we bought a house with a pool in it so we swim lots here, but it is not "little kid friendly" so we go to the local public pools. They are much easier for my 16 month old to get around in. We had a pool fence put in just this past December to make ours safer. Best investment we have made yet! So,Naomi, if you ever get a house with a pool, get a pool fence- there are tons of different types that can be custom made for your pool, plus pool covers, etc. It is peace of mind for our family and well worth the expense. I also agree on swimming being the best form of excercise. Right now, I can only swim by myself late in the evenings and our pool isn't quite warm enough yet. We have had lots of rain and it has kept it cool. My plan is to get the baby to sleep then I can jump in and do water aerobics, weights, and some laps or just treading water-THAT really gets you into shape. Thanks for the suggestion of the turtle float- if it has a pool attached, then I can use it in the front yard. My other kiddo loves to play in the water hose in the front. We also bought something cool from Walmart, it is this rocket that attaches to the hose and you can use it as a sprinkler while the kidds are playing with it. Way cool. All of the neighbor kids love it and it also costs about $10. Well, I will keep in touch and I want to know everyone's progress so I can cheer you on and also to motivate myself! Have a great weekend!:) |
