Time out
My son is only 13 months and I was wondering when an appropriate age is to start with the time out thing. I have a few friends who do it now and their children are around the same age as Nicky. I just don't think he'll even understand what is happening if I start giving him time outs now. I say NO with an angry face and he does know what NO means. Any suggestions?

My two favorite discipline books are:

1) The Discipline Book : How to Have a Better-Behaved Child From Birth to Age Ten, Vol. 1 by Dr. Sears
2) Kid Cooperation by Elizabeth Pantley

Both books give real life scenarios and examples of how to respond. The first one covers everything from toddler disputes to stealing.

Thanks Julie! I think I'm going to order it on Boarders right now! I just want a well behaved child with good manners...doesn't everyone???? hahaha But like I said I can't imagine putting a 13 month old into time out.
