Hey girl, honestly I don't know what kind of bills you have each month, but for us that would not be possible. I would try getting a work at home job. I have one and am looking into another. You could also try doing childcare at home. Good luck and let me know if you need anything! Kristin |

There are ways of being able to do it but you have to learn to be frugal with your money....cut out all the stuff you don't really need. extra features on your phone...or the house phone all together if you have cell phones, basic cable or no cable you can always rent movies from the library, going out to eat or fast food. Plan your meals ahead of time and don't cook more than your family actually eats so as not to waste, start stocking up on certain items when on sale for future use. If you get manicures and pedicures try doing them yourself. I have a million of them we have only one income but our bills are tremendous we don't drive everyday my husband works from home and only goes in to the office twice a month i clip coupons when possible for things i know i will buy. I go through all of the grocery adds and plan my meals around what is on sale and will go to more than one store. we do free stuff at the library for entertainment and walk to the park and have a small picnic it can work for you but you have to make a list of all of your bills figure out how much you spend a month and then be realistic on what you really don't need that you can cut out. I think we have had fast food 3 times this year because my cooking is much more healthier and cheaper. i know how to make hamburgers and fries... also cut out junk foods.... sorry i can go on and on and i know it sounds simple but it isn't, it takes a lot of self dicipline and work from both adults, he has to also make sacrifices, my hubby stopped getting starbucks and instead of always buying his magazines we go to borders he reads them there while the kids and i read kids books and such. if you need more advise just let me know I have read tons of books on this and we are treating ourselves to broasted chicken tonight because i budgeted for it and have a coupon :) |

I stay at home and work from there too. Too hard out there right now for that amount of income and without my homebased job, I know I would not pull it off. Try it out and see how you like it. There are many to get into. Try this one.

I am a Stay At Home Mom. Try to buy as few new things as possible. Go to garage sales and second hand stores for clothes and toys. Not a lot of people have heard of it, but you can purchase or make reusable toilet paper, baby wipes, sanitary napkins, and paper towels. Using cloth diapers will save you hundreds of dollars with your first baby, and even more with your second baby. Breastfeeding will save you $2,000 in one year in formula. Hi, Gretchen! Kristhal & Katey are right! It takes discipline! It's as simple as that. If you are used to buying what you want - when you want it......get out of the habit. Discipline starts with a change in your thinking. I have always been an independent woman. I worked hard and pretty much bought anything I wanted as well as traveled extensively. I've been married a couple of years now and just had a new baby. It really challenged my thinking because I said I always wanted to be home with my child. Well, then I had one. I decided to quit school and my job. I do not regret it. I no longer go to the malls or watch a lot of tv (which also makes you want to spend). I've been fortunate enough to have family and friends who are sharing their baby clothes with me. So far, I won't have to spend money on clothes for the first two years of his life.
Good luck! |

what I can add (being on the same situation) is: buy food in stores like Aldi, Marc's (here in Ohio), diapers only when there's a sale and using coupons at the same time, check weekly flyers and buy fruit, vegetable and meat wherever they have a sale. I never pay more then $1 for a toy for my baby, cause I get them all at baby sales (PTA's and high schools), baby clothes I got from my cusin. We have one car, one cell ($55) and one home phone (Vonage $24), internet AT&T($29). My baby insurance I got through Healthy Start (goverment program) and I have WIC for formula ($25 per can!!) and cereal. I check garage sales and buy stuff from clearance very often. I guess that's all.. |

Yeah I fit in that catagory perfectly. But even if I did go back to work, I would pretty much just be working to afford to pay for daycare. Whats the point in that??? It is possible, you just have to budget. I also became an independent demonstrator for Uppercase Living so that I can bring in some extra income. I really enjoy it doing it, so it not like work at all. Here's my website: http://ballard.uppercaseliving.net |
