I was talking to another mom today who has a littel girl who just turned 2. Seh offerd me a potty and I said that I would lve to have it. I could put it aside for later. Our daughter is almost 14 months. Somehow it came up that our daughter, April touches her diaper when she "goes". This other mom, who I had never met before, got very excited and sadi that April may be getting ready to train early. I got excited at first, but she's so young. She is our first and I have never been through this befroe. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks |

Hi Salina,
I don't know how to tell if a child is ready to potty train. My son is 2 and we are struggling with potty training. Everyone told me it would be so easy because he has been talking since he was around 8 months old. And talking more after one. I am still in the same boat. NO PROGRESS:)

There are many signs that your daughter will need to show before most people will even start potty training, some of the signs are staying dry for 4 or more hours, staying dry after a nap time, telling you that she is wet or poopy and to change her diaper and many more. I would check out a parenting website for the other signs. I will say that my son was the same way at about 16 months and was even telling us when he was poopy so we started to try to potty train and because he was not fully ready it put us way back. Now he is two and a half and we are still struggling. I think we set ourselves way back by starting too early. Good luck though. |

I figure once my daughter tries to climb up on the toliet then she's ready for potty training. I was a late bloomer so she might be one also. Its to early to tell since shes only 14 months. |
