sleeping issue
Hi,
my daughter is 20 months old and for months has given us problems with going to bed. She cries and screams and I feel so bad for her. The ped told me to let her cry it out and I tried that but after 30 minutes it's heart wrenching. Anyone else experience this and have any good strategies?

thanks,
Anna

I feel your pain. I was having the same issues with my son after coming back from vacation (he slept in the same bed with us). It took me a couple of weeks to get him back to normal. He too would cry for at least 30 minutes. I ended up rocking him until he was dozy (usually about 5-10 minutes) and then laid him in his crib. He would wake up crying, and again I did this until he was dozy... He would then cry for 10 minutes and go to sleep. It lessened each night. I would do the 2 chances and that's it. It seemed to help the duration of crying. The key is to get them while they are dozy instead of asleep. Good luck...
