I do not know the correct approach. I purchased the potty and even a dvd on how "Hannah does pee pee and poo on the potty". But Alyssa doesn't have to the patience to sit on the potty for too long. She 2 yrs. 2 months and very active. How will I know when she is ready? I want to place her in a pre-k class 2 days but she must be potty trained? Any suggestions?

My son is three now and has just started doing really well the past 6 months or so. I started training him when he was about 2 and nothing seemed to work, until my mom suggested I just start putting padded training underwear on him. Of course I had to get rid of the sippy cup as well because the first day he peed about 11 pairs of underwear, so I started controlling his fluid intake. Within about two weeks he started using the potty because he didn't like the feeling of wet underwear, and it didn't take long before he was a regular potty goer. You may want to cover all your furniture for awhile but eventually she'll get the hang of it. |

Thanks for the advice. I will give it a try. I have already purchased regular Dora underwear. I'll try putting them on her and see if that will work.

With my daughter at 2yrs, I rented a video at TAke-1-video called IT"S POTTY TIME", she watched it over and over for 4 days. We have tile downstairs so, I let her run around naked and when se would pee on the floor she didn't like the mess or it splattering on her. So, since she watched that movie she just started going on the potty.. She was trained in 4 days.. Though, with my son who is 2yrs old it is different.. He has no intrest.. He will sit on it but only for a minute or so. He doesn't talk much yet, so he can't tell me when he needs to go.. It is just a guessing game, and he hasn't done it yet. So, just waiting until he is intrested.
With your daughter I was told when they wake up in the morning and aren't wet or just a little wet, then they are ready. Also, when they can tell you they are going pee or poop. My daughter was just easy. Wish my son was! |
