Hi Rita! I was wondering how things were going with you and Andrew (and Paul). :o)
How did the hearing test go?
Jake has been in speech therapy for about 2 1/2 months now.. he is doing really well. He has come out of his hiding places and is so social. He is saying more 2-3 word sentences, and parroting new words. His frustration has almost disappeared since we can understand him better and he "tries" to ask for things now. I hope to have him close to caught up by December, when he's 3. (fingers crossed and lots of praying!)
We have a new SLP starting next week.. I'm nervous, Jake really liked his other one. She is needed at Head Start for more hours, and can't keep up with her private cases. So she has to leave us. :(
I hope the new girl is chipper and creative! I usually have a stack of back-up activities if he gets bored with what the SLP brings over. :o) Sometimes, there are specific things that I want Jake to work on (clothing items, food types, making choices, etc) and I line up a few activities to focus on that. Jake is so excited to work with his SLP, that he cooperates with her well, that way I can get more opportunities for him to learn new things.
Anyway, sorry to ramble... I hope you come back and give us some info on how you are... even just to say "HI"!
