Hi,
I am having a hard time getting my baby (he is 11 wks old) on a schedule- so far I have him going down for the night at 9 but getting a feeding schedule has proven to be tricky - he feeds by both the breast and bottle. Does anyone have any tips? I am going back to work next week and my husband is becoming Mr. Mom. |

Keep track of when he eats and sleeps for a few days and you should start to see a loose pattern emerge. Build your schedule from there. He is kind of young to be on a strict schedule, so keep it flexible. Schedules are more of a convenience for parents than a necessity for babies at this age. However, keeping track of his habits is a good way to learn how often he eats and how much is a good way to start the process of developing a schedule, and is a great tool for planning. |

My son started on a strict schedule around 3 months. We had taken a trip to Michigan to visit the in-laws and my son barely slept the whole trip (meaning I was pretty much a walking zombie). When we got back from the trip, we decided we needed to get our son on a strict nap schedule. I highly suggest getting a noisemaker. We bought one at a yard sale and it proved to be a lifesaver during my sons' naps. It blocked out the noise (we live in the city) and it soothed him to sleep. After we got the daytime nap schedule in place (napped twice a day), the nighttime was a whole lot easier. Good luck!! |

I recommend you try the E.A.S.Y method, it saved my life at that stage. Eat, Activity, Sleep, Your time. There is a ton of info about the easy method online. Good luck! |
