I use a pail (actually a empty wind fresh Sam's club brand laundry detergent pail) and put my diapers in it - we take out the inserts and spray poopy diapers with Bac-out. And drop in teh pail together I wash about every other to every 3rd day. Our pail is located next to our washing machine in our kitchen - It doesn't stink unless it has sat there for a long time or she has been sick with loose stool = then we just wash them sooner. A wet pail is going to smell more - dirty water just sitting there. If you are really worried about it they have freshener disks you can put in the pails I also bleach my pail at least every other week.

Thank you for your quick response! Today my package arrived and i am a little puzzled!
I fond the inserts in the diaper pocket inside, what makes sense, but i thought the inserts are to hold the mess up. Do i have to put anything between the diaper and the Baby? What are you doing when you on the way with the diapers or when it is really messy? I just dont know if when i wash the diapers it gets all white again!
I hope you have good experience with that and can let me know! =)

Thank you so much

The inserts do go in the pocket - you can buy liners (usually flushable) but I never have we spray our diapers that are dirty with Bac-Out (found at Kroger or natural stores or online) heres a link to the biokleen website http://biokleenhome.com/ they have a search for store part. Also my pail rarely smells, if it has alot of dirty diapers I usually wash sooner then usual after about the 3rd day they can start to stink.
Use a free and clear detergent - I use Ecos and love it though have also used All free and clear and Purex free and clear - and you need less then you would for a normal load so I use about half of what it calls for for hte size load I am doing.
If you have any more questions let me know and good luck with your diapers

I use a waterproof diaper pail liner (dry pail system). It's like a cloth bag with a plasticy outer layer. I wash that with my diapers. I actually have two so that while one is drying, the other is ready to go in the pail.

If your hyper-effecient, you can disassemble your diapers before putting them in the bag and then just dump the entire bag into your washing machine. That way you don't have to touch them after they've been sitting for a couple of days.

Plus, my pail doesn't smell after months of using it (and never cleaning it). Good luck, Christina.

Hi,
thanks for all the tips! I am still waiting for the Baby to come, we are so excited! My husband is still a little skeptic about the diapers... but i think he will soon be convinced by the easy use! I bought the bac-out spray and used it already on other clothes! Its great! Thanks again!
I let you know, how it goes!

I would not go 3 days without washing you will have problems with not only stink but staining if you wait that long. Every other day would be better.

I use a really cheap pail from Babies R us. Safety First. $12. Works really well.

Deodisks can help keep the smells down too. Or sprinkle a little arm and hammer in the bottom of the pail.

Liners are thinner than inserts and lay on top of the diaper. The liner protects the fabric from the mess. Inserts are inserted into the diaper or used as an extra soaker... :)
