Is there anyone who has a preference for schooling and instilling your values into your children e.g. private school, home schooling, public school |

If you do homeschool use A.C.E. its not hard and you can do the work with your child. I didn't do well in High School either but I am going to homeschool my kids. |

We homeschool. I didn't do really well in school either. There are many resources out there to help in that area. If you feel comfortable with a curriculum they usually come with teacher additions to help you explain a new concept. It really also helps you relearn things as well. You can learn right along with them.
Also sometimes co-ops have it where people trade off subjects together. Say if one is good in math and the other good in art they might help teach each other's children.
As they get older like high school ages (I think 16 is the youngest but I could be wrong) they can take some collage courses for things you may not be able to teach.
There are also computer courses where they can learn from a teacher online. Some may even be accredited and other's may not but they still work well. So if you really want to homeschool your children please don't let the lack of education you have. There is so many possibilities.
I did awful in math in school. I still don't do too well in math. But my oldest son who is now in the third grade can do math really well. He can add, subtract really well in his head. In first grade I explained what multiplication was and he's been able to multiply small numbers since then. This really had nothing to do with me. It had to do with what he was capable of doing. So please don't sell yourself short.
If you don't want to homeschool that is fine too. Everyone does what they feel is best for their children. I am just saying don't let your education stop you if you really want to homeschool. :). |

I am going to be home schooling my kids and this year will be my first year. The reason is that we moved here from AZ and Brenden was going to be going into K this year but because he is 4 as of June of this year our school dist. said not til next year. Well he is getting board now with the pre K stuff so I am a stay at home mom so why not. I am going to start using the P.A.C.E. system I think starting first grade. I did that in my elem. years at a private school and loved it. |

Values start at home and if you have a good foundation then school won't hurt too bad. I honestly believe that you should not homeschool your kids after a certain age/grade....somewhere around 6th grade. The kids tend to miss out on a lot of opportunities and interaction that you find in school whether it be public or private. I went to school to be a teacher and in high school that extra knowledge of a teacher vs parents can help a child find our their calling or more information. |

I agree with you Beth Y. There are so many activities the kids can be involved in. They don't have to go to a public school to experience those activities. There are homeschool co-ops that provide the same activities. |
