Hello Ladies, I'm a 45 year old father of one and I am Mr. Mom while wifey works during week, I am now part time so we don't have to worry about daycare. I am also in the Yonkers area and look fwd to possibly forming a playgroup and meeting people. Don't kno' if you Ladies kno' this, but, in the City Center theatre in White Plains they have program called Baby pictures. It's every Thursday morning @ 10am and it's where you can bring your babies to the movies and see a film. Any interest ?? Let me kno'. |

Hi Mike I originally posted to this group, to find a play group for my daughter, but honestly, there SEEM to be no one seriously interested in hooking up for a play date. Maybe one day this group will be happening, I hope so. but I end up having to join a goup called mothers and more, which has a weekly playgroup and other activities occasionally. It takes some searching, but there are playgroups around.. Gymboree is a good one.

Hello Marisa, That sounds like it might be fun. My Daughter is almost 15 mos., think that would be a problem ??. Also, the Crestwood Library is located on Columbus Ave. if it's the one I'm thinking of. That's actually in Tuckahoe just down from the Tuckahoe Train Station if it's where I'm thinking. Either way, keep me posted, I'm game. ____________________ -MikeR- |

Alex really liked the crestwood group. The library is actually in a 2 story house, strange lol. Its a small library, the childrens section is downstairs and is about the same size as the adult area.
There were lots of kids there, the age range is 1 1/2 to 5 years.
The story teller was very nice & patient. She read a few stories, the kids sang songs, some danced a little, then she uses props out of her bin to tell some stories. When story & music time is done, the kids color for a bit
We'll try to get back to that each week. There are free programs at many libraries in westchester. I'm hoping that our cold clears up so we can check them all out next week |

Seems like we have a decent amount of willing parents here. Let me know if anyone wants to plan a brief meet up with our children. Maybe at a park before it gets to cold or someones house.

That would be great Karol.. Gymboree has a free preview class also, so you can see if it is something you want to do for your child. it is a bit expensive though compare to other groups. Gymboree is about $109 per month. Mothers and More is $45 for the year |

Hey there in regards to the 6 month groups there is a place on Central Avenue in Yonkers called Great Play and I have my son enrolled there. You pay for 8 weeks and the registration fee is 49.00 and also the price for the class is 199.00. The phone number to the place is 914-713-3470 You have a scheduled day to attend and then you also get three free days to play at the slotted time according to age group. My son really likes it and goes on Wed and the classes are 50 mins long. Also, I happened to join in the middle of the class so it only cost me 100 for the remainder of the time. They offer a free trial class and you should maybe look into it. It's less expensive than Gymboree and I thought it was really cute and fun for the kids. The staff members are wonderful and really nice!! It is located next to LakeShore the educational store. This week is suppose to be really nice weather and maybe we can all meet at a park like someone suggested to get to know one another. I can look and see if anything comes up and get back to you. You can email me at my reg email addy loveuloveme320@aol.com. Look forward to meeting you all someday soon! Marisa |

I hear that Whole foods has a mommy & me group but its just once a month, this month is the 16th.. thursday, its free and is from 9-11. I've heard theres pastries coffee and they usually feature a speaker or product line for kids/baby that are all natural
There's also Baby bits at Palmers crossing in Larchmont,, a bi montly luncheon for moms & babies, not free, like $40 I believe. Its from 12-2 and the money pays for lunch
People have also mentioned a couple Mommy and me yoga & salsa places to me, I can't remember right now. If you are interested I'll find out |

I heard of the Baby Bites but I think its for new moms and expectant moms. I always get emails from them. Also I am looking into this place in Larchmont that offers Mommy and Me luncheons and has entertainment for the kids and lunch for the mommies. I don't know what the fee is. When I do find out I will let you know. I am thinking about going to the Barnes and Nobles in City Center tomorrow for the Storytime if anyone is interested let me know. |

Hey All I am learning of a lot of cool places by you guys, I am going to write some of these things down. Hmm mike I am not sure of the baby pictures one. Maybe I am wrong , but it seems that wold be more of a hangout time for parents, not really a place for babies to socialize.. am I wrong? Have you went before?
2 Weeks ago, i took my dd to White Plains House of Fun, they have a small indoor toddler play place, then a bigger area for older children. There were a couple toddlers there roaming the place so my dd did get to have a little fun. If you want just a spur of the moment activity this might be a cool place to visit, |

Hey Tenika, Yes I agree, it's probably more of a parents thing as far getting together. No I have never gone but would love to check it out. I am also thinking it might be a good place for kids to hang w/each other as I thinlk the whole concept is if your baby wants to scream/ cry/walkf/crawl about the theattre i beleive that's why they have a select theatre to do so. Up to you it was only a suggestion ...... as far as fridays go .... I go in @ 12am so depending on time of day I might be interestd. Soooo Glad I joined, you Ladies Rock .... maybe we can all meet up @ a restaurant with the families and intro ourselves all around. Keep smilin' --------------------------------- -MikeR- |

HEy there. It's me again haha. Well speaking of meeting up with families there is a place called Bellizzi in Larchmont and they have kids night every Thurs night. Don't know exactly what it's about and never ate there so dont' know what the food is like. They are haivng a Halloween parade on the Thurs before Halloween. I posted it on the calendar. Anyway, I would love to meet everyone. This Friday is good but only if it is after 1pm because of my son's therapy. We can meet at a park or at the House of Play if the weather is too cold to be outdoors. If I come across another meeting place I will def. let you know. Here is my email loveuloveme320@aol.com if you would like to email me.
