I just finished a great book that I thought I would share with you...it is 123 Magic, Effective Discipline for children 2-12 by Thomas W. Phelan, PhD. It gives great examples on how important it is to take control back of your house and be consistent. It covers sibling rivalry, tantrums, pouting, lying, how your child can test and manipulate you, etc. It is also proven to be effective in the classrooms for teachers. There are some great ideas and guidelines on how to implement this system and why it gets results within a few weeks, and what to expect from your child in the initiation phase. Certain behaviors have to be stopped....while others you need to start (get ready in the morning, clean up the room, etc)
Very easy to read and down to earth concept!

I have to agree. I haven't read the whole book through but I have read some excerpts and it's been working with my son. Several of my mama friends swear by it as well. |

Will you guys keep us posted on how it works? Finding time to sit down and read a book always seems impossible. But if it is worth it I will find the time!
