8 month old not wanting baby food
My daughter is 8 months old and the past week or two it seems like she is not wanting to eat her baby food. She has no teeth yet so there is really no other option. She loves cheerios but she can't just eat those. We know she is teething but do not think that is why she isn't wanting her baby food. Any pointers or ideas?
If she won't eat it, what can I give her?

My son didn't get his first tooth til he was 11 months.he wouldn't eat babyfood for the most part... he'd only eat the beechnut cinnamon raisen granola and oatmeal bananna peach... he was eatting cherrios, gerber puffs[broken], small bits of tomato, small bananna pieces, bread, small pieces of chicken, ...

remember they don't get molars til after 1 yr so any food they eat [chew] prior to molars is pressed by the gums.....

We also do adult oatmeal, cooked in milk [or breast milk or formula] until a rough puddingish texture [til oatmeal boils then stick in freezer/fridge til appropriate temp] we also added cinnamon... [now we use the instant packages but still cook til soft]

There are many things you can do like... give your baby peas but smash each pea before putting in mouth, my friend likes to use avocado....
a friend of mine would steam til soft her son's sweet potato, peeled zucchini, and other easily softened veggies... [precut into small chunks before steaming]

you can also try overcooked pasta [my son loved and still loves spagetti and sauce but the noodles diced up really small]
try soft fruits, or like motts no sugar added applesauce, or yogurt, [stoneyville farm [so something like it] has organic whole milk yogurt, or yobaby yogurt [try little bit at a time to make sure no adverse milk reaction]

remember also formula or breast milk at this time is still very important and should provide most nutrtion for a yr.

If you are worried about cherrios [they are smaller than the puffs] just break the cherrios in half.. .as long as no gagging when eating not puree food you should be fine with small pieces of food... I had the same problem.. my son is now 17 months
