I think we should have a place to celebrate and give kudos to the daddy's out there when they do something good.
So ok Ladies - here is it! My post about my husband being an awesome daddy.
My most recent moment occurred just yesterday. I was getting really frusterated with my 13m son. He is trying to figure out how to use a spoon and "eating" some tofu. Well, the only tofu he likes is this desert kind flavored with peach and mango and each little tub is $1. I know, it doesn't sound like much, but I am a sahm and every penny counts. Jake wasn't really eating it, just digging the spoon in it and turning the spoon sideways, so it all fell off the spoon before it got to his mouth and he would not let me turn the spoon in his hand so it wouldn't fall off. I was tired (he refused to take his nap yesterday) and snapped that if he was going to dink around, then it should be with something cheaper (I know, I know - did I mention I was tired?) Anyway, my husband just smiled and gently said - "Nan, it is a developmental stage that he is going through. He is just trying to learn how to use the spoon." Considering, I am the one always telling HIM that very same thing it cracked me up.
My other good daddy moment: We were all sitting out in the yard and Jake went to the get hose. He daddy play a game where Tim holds the hose with the nozzle on and Jake shakes it back and forth "helping" daddy water the lawn. Tim saw what Jake was doing, put down his brand new Car and Driver magazine, turned on the hose and sat down and played the watering game with his son.
Last one: My husband got home from a 2 night work trip right after I put Jake to bed. He comes in the house and gives me a kiss hello and then just looks at me like a hopefully little puppy. I told him. that yes, he could go see Jake. His grin just about cracked his face and goes into Jake's room. He leans way over, balancing his weight on the edge of the crib with his feet in the air and gives Jake a kiss. Jake actually smiled in his sleep. |
