Advice anyone???
My daughter, Mariah, will NOT take any other nipple than the ONE old, worn out nipple that leaks and really needs to be thrown out. I have tried different nipples and she refused to take any other one. I have also tried to get her to drink her formula out of a sippy cup since she just turned one on the 18th of May. I have failed at all of my attempts. Does anybody have any suggestions??? PLEASE help!!!

Crystal,
I had somewhat of the same problem. My son (11 months old) would not drink out of a sippy cup, but he was interested in them. I got these sippy cups called nuby (at Wal-Mart). He loves it! They have different kinds of tops, but the difference is they are almost like a bottle nipple. It has worked for us...I hope that it works for you.

Crystal
my girls just took to the sippy about a month ago (11 months now) ... we use Avents ... but I have found that they like the softer spouts better than the hard plastic ones (we also have gerber sippys) ... also could it be the formula ...maybe she is ready for something else? just a thought ... I have been usuing the next step from enfamil for their sippys (formula just in their bedtime bottles) I have noticed my girls no taking formula the way they do this other stuff ... it is more like milk (which they are not too thrilled about) but has more they need ... JUST A THOUGHT !!!! good luck

My son is now 17 months old and would not use any other nipple either. when i finally had to replace them he barely ate anything for 2 days but then he just gave in and drank from it. I still to this day cannot get him to really drink more than 2 oz of anything out of a sippy cup. I finally bought him a sports cup with the spout that opens when you pull it. He loves it, he will drink anythin gyou put in it plus it looks more like mommy and daddy's. His peditrican gave me some good advice also, when they are ready they will let you know you will only frustrate yourself and your child by pushing somehting they are not ready for yet. My son still had a bottle in the morning and at dinner and before bed and I am ok with that now. Try the little kids sports cups maybe you will have a better outcome
have a good night

Thanks for all the input. I went out and bought a Nuby sippy cup with the soft spout. She fell asleep with it, but woke up two hours later wanting her bottle. Her daddy gave in and gave her the bottle. I will need to keep persistent on this issue, otherwise she will NEVER give up that old nipple.
