Hi there, I have a 13 month old who is a very picky eater...although I try and try lots of different foods he's somewhat intolerant to most. I'm wondering if I should be supplementing with a vitamin. Of course I remember growing up with taking vitamins as child back in the 70's, but I'm not sure if that's considered a foe-pas these days. Any insight from other moms would be appreciated. |

Hi Amy - I'm curious to read the responses to this post because I'm in the same boat with our 23 month old. I'll be asking the pediatrician about vitamins at our next visit in a couple of weeks...I'll let you know what she says. :) |

My son eats very well actually but when I asked my pediatrician about vitamins he said that he should DEFINITELY be on them. He said no matter how well your child eats, he might not be getting 100% of the vitamins his body needs. He told me to buy POLY-VI-SOL (liquid vitamins)at the grocery store. It is in a purple box and you can get its cheaper version at Target (target brand). I hope this helps. |

My son is 9 mo old, and at 7 mo. he kind startig refusing his bottles, but would eat anything I put in his mouth. I called the Dr. and she told me to start him on the Poly Visol with Iron. She also told me that they should be on them if they are a year or older. But she did specify to by with the Iron. As stated before it is in a purple box, and it is made by Enfimil. |

My daughter eats fairly well but she still takes a vitamin. She has febrile sezuires when she gets sick and her temp goes up and since she's been taking a vitamin she hasn't had one. It's just better for their immune system and to make sure they are getting all the nutrients they need each day!! Good luck! I would say go for it! Just be chosy because even the flintstone vitiamins have a pretty low absorbancy rate so what's the use in takin a vitamin if they don't absorb in the body like they should!? |

Thank you everyone for your responses. I think I'll try out the brand you told me about. |
