birthday party ideas
Hi all. My son is turning two in August and we are planning a party for about 30 people (children and adults included). It's going to be in my parents backyard. We will have tents and everything set up for the food but i don't know what activities to plan. i was researching online about crafts and stuff but i don't know that my son or any of his friends will really sit through doing crafts. can you guys suggest any activities that are pretty low cost and fitting to a toddler's temperament?

You can try "water" activites since it will be August and hot. A sprnkler is always a hit and games that require running around - like an egg hunt or bubbles. I used this website when planning my 2 year olds party and it was pretty helpful. go to http://www.birthdayinabox.com/ - go to "Games" and it gives you a whole slew of ideas geared toward preschoolers,.most of them are very inexpensive to implement.

I like the ideas of water and bubbles, those are always fun...no matter what age...lol! You could fill a little kiddie pool with balls, buckets, watering cans, etc. Maybe have a tote of water balloons? Um, you could have the children decorate their own cupcakes? And/or there goody bags? Simple games like making a basket, ring around the rosie, pin the tail on the donkey (or whatever version they have now!) Good Luck! Let us know how the party goes :)

When it comes to birthday parties you have to check out this site: www. birthdaypartyideas.com
I have thrown an princess party for my 1 year old and a Harry Potter party for my 11 year old sister. Both were huge hits and had lots of activities.
It was a great purchse to spend the $20 at Wal-mart for a bubble machine for the outdoor part of the parties!

You could do a simply treasure hunt, and the found treasures become their take home gifts! My son just turned 3 and we had a pirate themed party, with a treasure hunt. We used a picture of where they should go to find the treasures. My youngest son, 21 months, had a ton of fun, searching for the hidden treasures. You could do the treasure hunt like an egg hunt where the 'treasures' are just hidden all over the yard.
