has everyone been up too? We have just had a busy summer with places to go and things to do. Right now I have been really cleaning the house one room at a time. It really needed it. It kind of gets neglected during the time we are schooling so summer time is a perfect time for me to get through it. It's not there yet but getting there LOL. So what have everyone else been up to? |

Congrats, Gidget, on your new place!
We're preparing to move as well. From Reno, NV to the southwest corner of Missouri. I've lived in Reno here 8 yrs, and my DH is a Nevada native, so the move is going to be tough in some ways. We have a great homeschool co-op and very supportive friends that we'll dearly miss, and I'll also miss the mountains that I love to hike, and the fact that there are no chiggers, fleas or ticks, and very few mosquitoes (all 4 are found in abundance in the Missouri Ozarks!). On the other hand, we have a beautiful piece of property back there, my extended family, and lots of water and rain for growing veggies and fruit trees! And we'll no longer have to buy hay for our horses! It's free in our own field in Missouri, wow! Yipee!
We're busy now sorting and packing, and doing home repairs and upgrades to the house we are in and another that we rent out to folks in town. Can't sell anything in the market out where, so plan to rent out both places. It's a bit overwhelming to think about sometimes.
My oldest will be 6 soon, and we've already started "1st grade." Hoping that the move doesn't knock us off schedule too much, but that's the great thing about homeschooling - being flexible!
Have a great weekend! |

I've just returned from staying with my elderly grandmother for several days while she transitions back to independent living from being in the hospital and in renab for 3 months following hip surgery with complications. She's fine, BTW, just needs to use a walker for balance and some support.
Otherwise we are having a relaxing summer. I'm on the computer and reading a lot; the kids are doing math through the summer but that doesn't take away too much from their leisure time. Daniel is working at Subway. Rachel is making "movies" for YouTube. And hubby is just praying every week that we have enough money for gas to get him to and from work every day. |

Kelly I am glad your gradmother is doing better now! I know what you mean about gas prices ugh. We haven't been doing a lot of things because of that ugh. |

I don't know Jody this is just too weird, first the secretary thing for Mom's Club. And now we are both really cleaning house! That is what I have been doing. I am hoping to have everything under control before school starts, and than just have to do basic upkeep during school.
I wish I were moving. What I wouldn't do to get out of where I live and away from all the neighbors. I would like DD to do a little bit of learning over the summer, but, with the neighbor kids around it is too hard, she wants to play too. And, it is just to hard to have her do school work with her mind on something else.(sigh) |

LOL that is just too funny Karen. I like to get it all cleaned in the summer too and then try to upkeep when school comes around. I also would love to move from here. We just recently got new neighbors (we rent) across the driveway and well let's just say it's going to be a long summer ugh.
I have been doing some work with the boy's. They have a few friends out here they play with but we get the majority done in the morning before really anyone is outside. So that works for us anyway.
Sounds like we have a lot in common LOL. |
