Potty Training Relapse
Okay guys....I am getting very worried because my little girl will be three in a couple of months and seemed to have been pretty much trained with a few accidents here and there. Now out of the blue it seems she is just playing and refuses to stop to go potty. She only seems to go if I remind her. Has anyone had this problem. I feel like I am almost starting over. She doesnt show any signs that she is upset or bothered by anything...she is happy go lucky as usual...just has so much to do and wont stop to go potty! Help!

I had the same problem, as well as my sister-in-law. I think it's the next phase. What we have been doing is still using our rewards program (we did candy), and explaining to her, that she can go right back outside if she comes in to potty. But if she has an accident, she has to stay inside (for a set time- we usually do at least 10 mins, or come in completely). I also try to explain/emphasize that it's embarrassing to have an accident in front of her friends.

My daughter hates stopping to go potty. We've been using the term "potty break" and she knows she can come right back to whatever she is doing. She especially gets a kick out of it if she is watching a show and we tell her Mickey Mouse or whoever she is watching will wait for her. We put the show on pause and start walking away, then run back real quick and let her peek at the tv to see that Mickey is still waiting for her. It seems to help.

Thanks Jen and Jennifer for your input. I will try your suggestions. Life with a toddler is never dull....I wouldnt trade it for the world!
