Behavior between girls
Anyone out there with more than one girl? I cannot leave my 11 mth old alone with my 4 1/2 yr old for fear of her hurting her. Meaning, just to walk from the living room into the kitchen to grab something kind of thing. She has even hurt her while I'm in the room (with my back turned). Tried yelling, sending her to her room, hugs, kisses, just talking to her to explain that ALL babies need care-not just our baby......Just when I think things are getting better, she does something again. Tried talking to our Ped and he says she'll grow out of it.

What do I do in the mean time to keep my sanity???

im going through the same thing... we have hard wood floors and it seems every time i turn my head my 3 yr old is pushing my 8 month old over. (both are girls)... she takes toys from her smacks her screams in her face..shes usually a great little girl never had a problem out of her. with my husband deployed to iraq my 3yr old doesnt get enough attention.. i guess... i try but its hard...i've tried the same things you have and nothing seems to work for me either.. so if you get any good advice send it my way!! please.. jessica

Maybe try finding a sitter for the 11 month old and taking the older one out somewhere just the 2 of you. Maybe to the zoo or shopping or something like that. Then talk to her about why the baby needs more care and enlist her help. Give her a specific task like picking out the baby's outfit for the day or something like that. Let me know how it goes!
