50 Ways to Hex Your Lover by Linda Wisdom. It is a romance novel about a seemingly immortal witch and a vampire that have had an off-and-on relationship for the past 300 hundred years or so. Now they are joining up in modern times to investigate the disappearance of some vampires.
I'm nearly halfway through and am not super thrilled with it so far. The witch is more of a bitch, the vampire dude has had virtually no character development, and the storyline keeps going off on all sorts of tangents that I can only hope will somehow coalesce into a coherent story sometime in the next 200 pages. |

By far, the best read this summer for mom's or not mom's is Taylor Wilshire's, The Book of Mom. It is not only funny, funny, funny, but inspiring. This book about a mom that loses her sence of self, passions and joy of life and how she gets it all back is packed with ideas to inspire the soul! |

Now I'm reading Child of a Dead God by Barb & J.C. Hendee. It is the final book in the Noble Dead series, and that is the only reason I'm reading it. I'm not enjoying it much, but I hate not knowing how a story ends. |

I just finished The Hot Flash Club by Nancy Thayer, this is a hillarious novel about 4 women who meet by accident at a party and decide to start the Hot Flash Club (HFC), each women being in a different stage of menapause. They begin their friendship deciding to help eachother out with life problems (one wants to know if a younger women is after her job, another needs to know if her son-in-law is cheating on her daughter and so on). As they each try to complete their assignments a deeper friendship grows. This is a very light hearted and laugh out loud book and I would reccommend it as a summer read. |
