Moms who have Husbands/ Boyfriends with Non Traditional Work Schedules
Public online group

Police Wife from Texas!
Hi I am Jenny, I am a police wife and was looking to chat with some moms who have "been there done that"! I am about to have baby #3 and with one starting school this year. My husband works 10 hour shifts 4 days a week (12PM - 10PM) and another side job on Thursdays for 6 hours. Which means he works almost every holiday and every weekend. My girl friends all have regular hours and are busy with their own familes on the weekends. Its even hard to go visit our family, because he has Wed and Friday off...having to work on Thurs -- makes it impossible!! Our little boy is starting school this year and if this schedule is the same as it is now then he won't see him at all! How do families do this? So I guess we are going to have to do the night shift again...oh geezz.

Hi Jenny,

Wow, that IS a crazy schedule. My father-in-law is a retired police officer. My hubby and his brothers always said it was hard having a dad as a cop. They remember him having to leave holiday dinners or miss them all together but, as adults, they all agree that they were so proud of him for serving and protecting day in and day out.

When are you due with your 3rd child? Wow, I have my hands full with my 2 yr old and my 9 month old- you must be so excited though.

I am not sure how anyone DOES it, other than, as my hubby says, shootin from the hip and just taking it one day at time.

Well, anyway, welcome to the group!

Melissa
