Thanks for joining my group. I've joined mommy groups before and just haven't been happy with them. They either don't meet at all or they are all located so far away and it's just a huge hassle to drive to any of the meetup spots.
I thought I'd finally start my own group for Woodbridge parents to meetup and have their own playdates and we can do things together in the area. My son is 16 months, but I'm hoping to get a large range of ages in children. I know for myself, I've just had a difficult time finding people to have playdates with. It's not like me to just walk up to someone in walmart and ask them out to coffee or to the park.
So I hope we can meetup as individuals or as a group and I hope to make lifelong friends for each other and for our children. I look forward to meeting each and every person who joins and please feel free to invite friends and set up activites that we can each participate in. |

Hi Abby,
Thanks for starting the group. Yes, it can be hard to find ways to click with others especially as you say that people are busy or live far away. One place I've considered driving to in Springfield is at an organized playgroup that has specific drop in hours. This group is run by a psychologist and she also offers some great classes. If you are interested, the link is: http://www.parentingplaygroups.com/
I like yard sales myself, but have weaned myself off of them because we have no space for more! In fact, we are going to have a sale next weekend, so I'll email you the details and you can come by if you like.
Ali is four an a half and an only child. Finding playmates for her has been challenging for many reasons, but mostly trying to match playdate activities around work is almost impossible unless it is the weekend.
Maybe we can get together somewhere for coffee when a few others join and brainstorm ideas for activities.
Have a great weekend.

Wow, I just don't have the energy to drive all the way to springfield for a playgroup. Kudos to you!! lol, Call me lazy I guess. Anyways, I spoke with Mary the other woman who joined (she seems really nice too) and we were talking about getting together next week. Our sons are a little younger than yours (hers is 18 months and mine is 16), and I can only speak for mine.. but he loves everyone and I doubt they wouldn't get along. I mean we can always go to get coffee at Starbucks and go to Fantasy playground in Lake Ridge or anywhere else if you're interested. Then we can brainstorm trips and things to do while the kids play (and obviously we keep an eye on them).
I'm a stay at home mom so I really have no life, LOL, so whenever you're free, I'm around. You can email me on here or at my personal email address; which is (don't laugh.. it's really old!!): cutestabby@yahoo.com
I'm not going to change it because all of my accounts are tied to that email along with everyone I know having it.. don't judge me! hahaha |
