I am a new mom (Jasmine 3 mos) and after 3 months I feel as though I'm going to go NUTS! I literally feel like I'm loosing my mind.. I can't remember what I did last night and there are times where I forget the smallest things like to put deodorant or to brush my teeth and I'm scared that I'm going to forget something like her doctor's apt or where she's at when I leave the house or I'm scared I'm going to leave her somewhere and not remember where she is! My mom said that it's normal for being a first mom but I need to know HOW to make a schedule to add all this stuff in so i dont forget n e thing?

Hang in there, your mum is right. This is perfectly normal and it doesn't change with each child! I have three and I lost my mind a LONG time ago! You will never forget where you have put your baby, she will let you know if you do. I found a white board that you can wipe off. It is stuck on the front of one of my kitchen cabinets, it is also magnetic so I can sick things on there, such as doctors appt cards. Make a list of all the things you need to do that week and when you get them done wipe it off. REMEMBER you do not have to do everything in one day, there is nothing that can't wait until tomorrow. And if you ever need to speak to someone send me a message and I will try and help. |

Krissie, OK just calm down & breathe...this happens to just about EVERY mom out there....it is NOTHING to worry about. My youngest is 17 months old & there are STILL days that I forget to put on deodorant. It comes with being a mom. There are lots of things that you can do...the previous poster had a GREAT idea...you can also get a little notebook that you put in your purse to jot down notes. You won't forget where your baby is...think about & reread what you told to us...you have forgotten the little things. You haven't forgotten anything major. Also, something else you can do it get one of those large desk calendars & put it up in the kitchen (since I am sure you are in there quite often...LOL) so that it is right there for you to write stuff down on. You will be fine & you can always send me a message as well. You are not alone & you will be fine!!!

If you are at all worried about being depressed then you should talk to your doctor straight away, they are very supportive and very helpful. |

Part of how you are feeling can be because as a new mom you aren't getting as much sleep as you are use to and your body and mind are going thru an adjustment. Along with talking to your dr. about it keep in mind that it will get better. Lean on friends and family to lighten the load until you are feeling more like yourself. Good luck. |

ahhh this is only your first........it only gets worse......LOL just kidding. I am pregnant with my third and Im am very thankful for the appts that call to remind you, ever so often I feel like I have lost it all.......I write everything on the calendar and still screw things up....As for forgetting the kid......you wont...they watch your every move and dont usually go unnoticed. I am still trying to figure out how so often people forget about their kids in the car...... I NEVER get the chance! Dont they use a rearview mirror or WHAT! Good luck it gets much better! |
